Our Story

Brothers Richard and Tomas Kordos have been knee-deep in cocoa beans since 2004. It was then they opened the doors of their Caballero Fine Chocolates factory in South East Melbourne.

The siblings and chocolate chums initially went into business producing Easter products, before moving to handmade truffles and then traditional chocolate blocks. Soon, big Australian companies like Coles, Peter Alexander and Woolworths, got scent of what was coming out of the Caballero factory and asked them to manufacture for them.

In 2019, Richard and Tomas set their sights on creating the highest quality vegan chocolate.

So the brothers Kordos started from scratch, ditching milk chocolate for pure vegan goodness. Exhaustive cleaning and testing removed all dairy, gluten and nut allergens from their chocolate factory.

“We have a lot of vegan friends, and they told us there was no chocolate bar on the market that gives vegans value for money experience,” Richard said. “We wanted to create something that gives them twice the chocolate for half the money they are paying at the moment.”

So Humble Vegan was born.  And with six different flavoured dark chocolate bars, there’s almost a bar for every day of the week!
